Last Thursday, GRS hosted their annual Excellence Awards at Carousel in Charlotte Street, London. The event was held to highlight the dedication and outstanding achievements of employees within the GRS group.

ISC proudly won the Executive Award category, a well-deserved recognition for the exceptional performance and remarkable growth of the business over the past year. The Executive Award is normally handed to an individual, but this year was awarded to the brilliant team that ISC has built.

When choosing the winner, the judges said the following: “This has once again, proven to be extremely hard to identify an overall winner, with so many dedicated, committed and values-led colleagues in our business. This year we are presenting this Award to a Team, as opposed to an individual.  Again, with so many great teams in our business, all performing outstandingly, this again has been no easy task. Since our Project Western Reorganisation, this division has gone from strength to strength. Whilst all our teams have been instrumental in the performance of the overall group in 2023, this winning team has been chosen, not just on stand-out performance, but on its meteoric growth in both size and team. The team has been built from scratch.  With GRS not having some of the specialist experience in the business at that time, new recruits across many disciplines were bought in from outside the business, and quickly embedded into the unique GRS way of working. Coming from a standing start, in only 2 years, this winning team has grown this specialist area of the business by 400%, truly demonstrating just how “WeGoBeyond”.

Darren Quinton, Managing Director of ISC, expressed his gratitude and profound pride at the team’s accomplishment, emphasising the collective effort that propelled ISC to success. “It was an extremely proud moment when we were announced as the winner of this prestigious award” said Darren. “The team have been outstanding in the past 12 months, and their hard work and dedication has enabled us to embark on this upward trajectory and success. A team is not just people who work at the same time in the same place, a real team is a group of very different individuals with different expertise. People are the single most important component of business success. Our team is our competitive advantage”.

In addition to the Executive Award, the team had another reason to celebrate as Matt Taylor, Project Manager for ISC, was honoured with the Manager of the Year award. Matt’s commitment to excellence and his exemplary contributions to ISC’s projects undoubtedly made him a standout candidate for this award.

The judges commented the following: “This winner has clearly demonstrated the GRS Values in all that they do. With clear attention to detail, micro-management of risk, pro-active and a can-do approach ensures that they are always excelling and inspiring other members of their project team, all the while showing leadership, responsibility and trust. This winner’s can-do approach underpinned the successful acceleration of a key project milestone ensuring our client’s onward land sale obligations were met, under a much-condensed programme through a period of tough winter conditions.  The winner’s complete professionalism in all that they do is a major compliment for not only the team but GRS as a whole.”

The double win for ISC serves as a testament to the team’s relentless pursuit of excellence in all facets of our operations. As we reflect on the event and the awards received, it gives us the determination to continue delivering exceptional results in the years to come. The GRS Excellence Awards not only celebrates past accomplishments but also inspires the group of companies to reach even greater heights of success.
