At ISC, we’re committed to delivering meaningful social value in the communities where we work. Our recent initiative at the Mind Wellness Centre in Hertfordshire is a strong example of that. While delivering a live project in Ware alongside our client Balfour Beatty, our team identified an opportunity to make a tangible difference close to the project.

Just a few miles away, the Mind Wellness Centre provides vital support for mental health and wellbeing within the local community, and its courtyard space was in urgent need of attention.

TRANSFORMING A SPACE FOR REFLECTION AND RECOVERY

Working collaboratively, our team set out to revitalise the Centre’s outdoor courtyard, transforming what had become a tired and underused area into a calm, welcoming environment for reflection and relaxation.

Over the course of just a few days, the team:

• Removed existing materials and cleared the space
• Installed a brand-new patio area
• Repainted surrounding walls to brighten the setting
• Added new planters and seating to create a more inviting atmosphere

The result is a refreshed outdoor space that can be used year-round by visitors and staff. Somewhere peaceful that supports the Centre’s wider wellbeing mission.

This transformation was made possible through strong collaboration. We’d like to extend a sincere thank you to GRS Building Products, who generously donated the building materials used throughout the project. Their support played a key role in turning a simple idea into a lasting community asset.
