Ebbsfleet Cross Phase 1 & 2
Completion Date: August 2021
The Ebbsfleet Cross Phase 1 project encompassed a comprehensive set of enabling works, with a primary focus on transforming a former chalk quarry into a development-ready platform. The project commenced with the removal of trees and vegetation, which was crucial for creating a clean canvas for future construction. The site’s transformation also involved the removal of slabs and other obstructions, ensuring that the area was prepped for the next phase of development.
Following the preparatory work, our team oversaw the site turnover process, which involved the careful management of site materials and waste. The cut-and-fill operations utilised on-site materials to achieve the desired topography, an approach that aligns with sustainable and cost-effective principles. This strategy not only reduced the need for external resources but also minimised the project’s environmental impact.
A unique aspect of this project was the infilling of the former chalk quarry, a process carried out in accordance with CL:AIRE (Contaminated Land: Applications in Real Environments) guidelines. These guidelines ensured that the infill was executed in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
The project also involved the construction of piling mats, emphasising our commitment to precision and safety in the preparation of foundations for future structures. This project serves as a testament to our expertise in land transformation and development, showcasing our dedication to sustainability and responsible construction practices.
